***** NEWS & NOTES *****

Over the past ten years, we at FIVE-STAR BALTIMORE have taught over 5,300 Baltimore area youngsters and provided a performance platform of top competition for Basketball Excellence.  In addition to Baltimore City and County, our campers hail from Anne Arundel, Carroll, Harford, and Howard Counties.  Our list of former campers who have gone on to play at the College Level speaks volumes, and will certainly continue to grow. Last season, our 2006 sessions featured the addition of a successful Boys and Girls Week at Kent Island HS in Kent County. We will be back again at KIHS for a week in July. Best of luck this season to all campers and staff as you prepare for playoffs and end of season tournaments. We look forward to seeing you this summer.

A day at Five-Star is like no other basketball experience.  We feature six sets of fundamental “teaching stations”, conducted by some of the best clinicians in the Baltimore area.  We currently have 20 High School Head Coaches, 16 Assistant Coaches, and 14 College Players on our staff.  In addition to our special morning mini-lectures, one guest lecture per day is given by a prominent College or H.S. Coach.  These talks, combined with drill periods, remain a daily highlight.  Each camper (team) has a permanent Head Coach and plays two games per day.  Max. of 10 players per team, and each camper is guaranteed to play at least  ½ of the game.  Also, there are 1 on 1 trnmts., FT & 3 Point Shooting contests, a Hot Shot competition, playoffs on “Championship Friday”, Orange/White Classic All-Star Games in each division, and a final Awards Ceremony.
